Letter from one of our agents, Pam Schuck,
to our company President, Jami Sales

Hi Jami - I just wanted to take a few minutes to drop you an email to let you know what a wonderful year this has turned out to be. I just cannot believe only three short years ago I was taking the training classes and had never sold travel in my life. I had a knack for sales but had no clue what was in store for me in this industry.

During training I will never forget you saying, "If you work hard and apply yourself you will not believe where you will be in one year from now." Well, I heard you but no way did I really think this could happen to me. My intentions were to do this as a part-time job to my "real" job as I called it. I worked for a prominent doctor and loved my job and was very well compensated.  So no way did I ever plan to leave that position. I had no more started training with you when the doctor had to retire early. I said to myself that this business is what you are going to have to make it in, so I made up my mind that I was going to work it and work it hard.  Around here where I live jobs are very limited and a good job just is non-existent. My husband and family encouraged me to go for it. My husband knew for a while I would basically be bringing in very little income but he wanted me to go for it.

I invested in a new computer system and all the things I needed for a serious business. Truthfully, I still really did not ever expect to replace my income from the doctor. Within less than six months I was named one of the company’s top three agents for that quarter’s sales. That really got me motivated to try even harder for next time. Disney's district rep had put some prizes out there for us to win if we sold dining plans on our reservations and I got many things sent to me for my efforts. It motivated me even more.

So what I am trying to say is be sure that you tell new agents who are just getting started, that if you want to make this work it can be done. It is not easy but starting a business never is. You have to be serious about building your clients. It is not fun and games. It takes dedication and many hours of work. I am available to my clients and potential clients most all day and until late night. You have to be quick and accurate. You cannot put off until tomorrow what comes in today!

I guess by being forced to quit a job I loved, I made the drive to succeed a top priority. I wish anyone who is getting started much luck.  Work it hard and like you said, Jami, "They will never believe where they will end up."

Thank you, Jami, for all the help and encouragement.  You believed I could do this when others disagreed, and for this I am grateful.
